- "Of the four members of staff we dealt with two were excellent (I believe one was the barmen and the other was a breakfast waiter) and the other two were useless. The whole hotel gave the appearance of being managed by someone who just could not care less. Parts of the hotel were not clean (particularly - lift buttons, door handles & brass plates) I phoned reception and waited 10 minutes and nobody answered, so my wife went down to reception to ask someone to bring water glasses and a light bulb as one was missing from a bedside lamp. The breakfast sausages looked and tasted as if they had been cooked the day before and reheated. It is very sad, because all the hotel lacks is a half way competent manager to put right just a few small details and the hotel would be first class and truly warrant its aa rating. At the moment it claims to have four aa stars, but I would not put it as a below average three star hotel."

- "The hotel is located approx. 15 minutes walk from Brighton city centre and 2 minutes from the seaside, which is great. We had a double ensuite room with a kitchen and a social room which was a nice bonus, especially when breakfast wasn't included in the price."

- "Lansdowne Palace Hotel needs a good revamp to reach the quality of a four star hotel and was not worth the cost. For £160 per night I would expect breakfast to be included. Although the decor seemed recently updated, the place requires more thorough works as there was water heavily leaking from the ceiling in our bathroom. Also TV in a social room/living room wasn't working."
