What did you like the most?
"The room was very clean and well decorated, as was the rest of the
hotel. The room had a television with a wide selection of channels.
There was a kettle, along with milk, sugar and a selection of
beverages, all nicely presented. The breakfast was very nice and
although I did not have lunch, or dinner, I have heard from friends
that the restaurant is very good. The hotel, which is actually classed
as an inn, is in extensive, well maintained grounds alongside a river.
All very picturesque. The staff were very friendly and accommodating,
especially the manager, with the manager prepared to stay up to let me
in after the doors were closed at midnight but do not count on this
being always the case. The bar was comfortable and had a good selection
of real-ale bitters."
Is there anything you didn't like?
"As I had a single room that cost £54.50, I was expecting the room to be en-suite but it only had a wash basin, with the shower and toilet, that was also shared with another room, at the end of the corridor. This made the room expensive for what it was, in my opinion. The television was fixed fairly high up a wall with the power plug above the television - I, at six foot, had to stand on tiptoe to switch it on. There was a cupboard that had three wickerwork shelves. The cupboard and shelves had been turned around to face the wall so that the shelves could not be opened but, as I could see they were full of various toiletries, eye brushes, mascara, etc., they could not be used anyway - I did wonder whether I had usurped one of the live-in staff. The room overlooked the main road, unfortunately, and as the windows were of the sash type and not double glazed, the room got quite noisy overnight because of passing vehicles, although, luckily, not too many."

What did you like the most?
"Karen and her staff were friendly and attentive to all of our needs.
Nothing was a problem."
Is there anything you didn't like?
"Small point but the beds were not made for the second night. This is because the key is yours from the start and staff do not enter unless asked. Whilst this is great for security not what I expected. Equally on the same basis the tea/coffee and biscuits are not replaced."
