With more than 75 years of history, it has the mission to conserve, study and diffuse one of the most important collections of Mediterranean maritime heritage. It is located in the building of Royal shipyards, in the maritime façade of the city and on the foot of the Montjuic mountain. It is one of the most important and well preserved building of the gothic art. The shipyards were catalogued in the 1976, as historic-artistic monument. They were constructed as arsenals for the galleries in the service of the Crown of Aragon and the group has more than 700 years of history. Currently one can only visit temporary exhibitions as it is subject to an important remodeling.
