- "Room very hot on first night even without heating. Hot drinks in room undrinkable as water very hard, perhaps filtered water could be provided, the water in the bottle seemed no better. A less arduous and bumpy lift would be great."

- "The room was spacious and in tastefully decorated colours with nice
lighting. The beds were extremely comfortable and very clean. Wardrobe
space was ample. The provision of cotton towelling dressing gowns was a
bonus, as were the bottle of water and tea and coffee. The bathroom was
very clean too. The chambermaid was especially friendly and helpful. The
fruit salad provided for the continental breakfast was delicious." - Is there anything you didn't like?
- "The reception staff were slightly obsequious and a little insincere as were some of the staff serving breakfast. The passage leading to the bedroom was stuffy and had a slight odour to it. In the bedroom area there was a glass window above the door into the bedroom through which one could see the landing light glaring all night, so on the first night we found it difficult to get to sleep. (The second night we did turn the light off, but one could still see a light on further down the passage). The other windows in the bedroom needed cleaning too. The bathroom had a fan which did not turn off for a long period and was quite noisy. The hot water in the morning was not very hot. The 'heated' towel rail did not work. The shower knobs were extremely stiff to operate. The rubber mat for the bath looked grubby so we did not use it. The floor was very slippery to stand on after getting out of the very high bath. My partner very nearly slipped over. When we reported the towel rail and the hot water problems, we were assured that action would be taken, but nothing happened nor was there any mention of it during or at the end of our stay. The back entrance to the hotel needed sweeping - it had some litter in it and overall the public areas were 'tired' and in need of attention to detail.. E.G. light bulbs replacement, no pictures on the walls of the staircase, the wooden panelling needing polishing. Outside the pots of plants needed replenishing as did some of the vases on the tables in the restaurant. The breakfast toast was invariably cold and a bit soggy."
