- "We found that the owners were very friendly, certainly very helpful and
good company even the locals were friendly, some thing you do not always
find. We asked the possibility of a later meal on the Saturday night for
eight people and this was done with no fuss. Delighted to say that we
all had a good meal and were very satisfied, oh, and breakfast is good
too, just the thing to start the day. Only downside was the local taxi
firms, apparently they do not work on Sunday nights (11.00 pm ish ) poor
show, would not last two minutes where we live. To round up regarding
the Royal Oak, we loved it and felt quite at home. Many thanks."

- "When visiting the Westonbirt Arbouretum we decided to stay in Tetbury.
In all fairness this was not our first choice as we usually stay at
hotels. The pub was looking tired and shabby (obviously a pub grouip
with multiple tenants) and was empty apart from one other drinker. The
accommodation was basic in a converted outbuilding of which again we
were the only occupants. It was quite spooky. The tenants were friendly
and tried hard but everything needs a serious makeover as it could have
potential in a tourist area."
