- "The town and the hotel were a like a dream ~ we were thoroughly carried back in time. "Charming" doesn't begin to describe it all! Recent renovations clearly preserved the best old aspects of the property, while offering guests the upgrades and conveniences we have come to expect in this day and age. The food was delicious (especially the traditional English breakfast, which I will never forget!), and the hotel offered tremendous flexibility as to where you may enjoy your meals (outdoor "patio" right in the center of the village or the garden in the back, or two indoor areas). The staff was incredibly accommodating. We may never have an opportunity to return, but we will never forget our magical stay!"

- "Two things kept me from giving all "excellent" ratings: (1) the hotel seemed understaffed about half the time we were there, so the poor individuals (who were all lovely in spite of their challenges) were too obviously being pulled in many directions, and (2) we came during an unusual hot/sunny spell, thus our room was excessively hot and uncomfortable... Besides that, we loved everything!"
