- "We were unable to have dinner as it has to be booked in advance but a good restaurant was recommended up the road."

- What did you like the most?
- "This property was a delightful surprise. We were travelling from
Portugal across to Spain and then France on our way back from a long
holiday so the location was the prime concern. We are also travelling
with our dog so that was also considered. This beautiful old 15th
Century restored stone farmhouse offers a wonderful scenic location
close to Chaves. The rooms are extremely comfortable and very well
appointed, our pup even had a lovely "doggie bed" supplied. Our hostess
"Helena" was so very welcoming, an open fire awaited us and a glass of
port as we checked in. She happily offered to prepare dinner which was
delicious and the table set for us fireside.It was just delicious, and
some very good local wine accompanied it. Breakfast was also
wonderful,with some local pastries, scrambled egg and sausages. Nothing
was too much trouble for our hosts. This property is very special and so
is the service and we would recommend it very highly!"

- "Very charming owner and warm hospitality.Helena the cook produced a vey good home cooked dinner for us and puts on a remarkable spread for breakfast."

- "We had booked a suite at the Quinta with expectations of a lovely view of the valley and town of Chaves.Upon arrival we found that this room had been allocated and we were relegated to a very gloomy ground floor Nuptial (!!) "suite" which gave a poor impression of this property. The owner did his best to remedy the situation."

- "Received a very friendly welcome and glass of Port as a welcome to the
"Country farm" style guesthouse. As dusk was almost falling, we were
lucky to get a chance to meet the Lusitano (in foal) mares and the
donkey, collect some eggs and say goodnight to the flock of sheep before
dinner. Had a delicious and inexpensive meal at the Miradouro restaurant
2 miles to the east, and ended up buying some local wine from them. A
more-than-adequate Breakfast was served in another rather formal and
chilly rock-walled room - we had almost finished, when bacon and
scrambled eggs arrived! I am sure that a longer stay than our one-night
would have been most rewarding." - Is there anything you didn't like?
- "The bathroom plumbing was functional, but could have done with a re-fit."
