- "I think rooms are a bit small for the price. Also, they would need renovation very soon."

- "Wonderfully peaceful place to stay on the banks of a tidal river with
its own flock of resident flamingos. Sand banks came and went with the
tide, local fisherman going about their business and wading birds meant
the scene was forever changing. Watching the sun rising from the mists
of the river in the morning was such a relaxing way to start the day
whilst eating breakfast from the verandha adjacent to the lovely
restuarant; which served a varied, and tasty buffet breakfast. Together
with local specialities the evening meals were intimate & the staff
attentive without being overly so. The lovely lounge with its
comfortable sofas and chairs was just the place to relax after dinner to
chat with fellow guests. Although we didn't use the bar, it too looked
intimate, relaxing and well designed with a mix of old and new . The
rooms were very comfortable with feather duvets cool cotton sheets, well
equiped bathroom and balcony with rattan chairs and table. The staff
were wonderful, very welcoming & helpful. We stayed for 4 days and were
reluctant to leave. The Pousada was 7 kms from a well marked walk taking
in woodland, coastal and lake vistas and took about 3 hours although
there were shorter routes. It was approx10 km from the ferry service
that went regularly to Aveiro-parking is scarce in Averio so go as a
foot passenger, purchase your ferry and bus ticket together from the
conductor on the ferry-the bus stop is beside the ferry terminal and is
about a 10-15 minute trip into Aveiro. With its canal boat trips, parks
and varied architecture this town has a lot to offer. This part of
Portugal is easy to get to with the excellent motorway system and well
worth a visit."
