- "The village of Ettal is lovely. The hotel was nice."
- Is there anything you didn't like?
- "We arrived at the hotel at 1pm as advised, and it was locked, with no staff present to let us in. Had to leave luggage at the back door. When we arrived back to the hotel, although it was now open, our luggage had not been brought in. Only one staff member seemed to run this hotel which was inadequate."

- "The location and the hotel itself are absolutely charming. Just want you want when visiting that region."

- "As an international traveler I was very annoyed that I could not pay with creditcard (cash only). I realize that it's common for smaller and family run hotels in the area not to accept credit cards. However if I am making an online booking using my credit card, I expect to be able to pay with it."

- "Very comfortable and cosy hotel to stay in that reflects the atmosphere of Ettal. There are some beautiful hiking trails nearby that overlook the monestary...a real highlight during our trip!"
- Is there anything you didn't like?
- "We arrived early in Ettal (2pm) and found the front door locked and a note in German with a phone number to call. At first we were worried this might be some online booking nightmare but when we called the number the host said we were too early and to come back after 4pm. We walked around Ettal but had to leave our bags unattended at the side door of the hotel in the rain. The hotel could also use more staff as it seemed this host was all by herself. One last thing the Visa machine was not working so thankfully Ettal has an ATM."

- "The location and view were excellent. The staff was pleasant."

- "When we arrived, around 3:30 pm, the front desk was unmanned and the hotel locked. There was a number to call, but we had no phone. If we hadn't found a door which was accidentally left open, we would have had to wait outside in the snow for about 90 minutes. Fortunately, we were able to get in out of the weather, but still had to wait 90 minutes before another guest with a phone called for us. This was not how we wanted to start our vacation, especially after being awake for about 36 hours straight for the trip over from the USA."
