- "We were driving from Greece to UK via Ancona. Parma was the perfect first stop. The hotel was in the right place for us."

- "The people on the reception were friendly but the hotel felt shabby. It was an old building which they had tried to modernise - unsuccessfully. Some of the 'improvements' looked as if they were to achieve a hotel category. There was a fitness suite which was some equipment left in a room. Our room was small and dark with multiple scuffs on the wall. The bathroom was nice but the walk-in shower had been jammed into one end so only a stick insect could get in to the gap. There was a dark, slightly musty air which didn't feel relaxing. The Maitre d' in the restaurant was rather Basil Fawlty. We are sorry to write this because we wanted to like it."

Staff was super friendly and helpful too. They also spoke English very well which is helpful for the language impaired like me. And when I got there late and asked about food the staff placed an order for a pizza on my behalf from somewhere that delivered while I got settled in the room, paid for it, and then didn't even accept a tip from me when I came downstairs to pick it up. And on top of all this, the breakfast buffett (included in my very low room price) blew my mind. This isn't just some muffin and juice. It's a full spread of cold cut meats, cheeses, pastries, buns, scrambled eggs, granola, yogurt, cereal, drinks, bacon, sausage... who knows what else that I can't remember. Even gluten free things for those who need it. I totally sound like some promoter for this hotel, but I was just very impressed with this place. I'd go back in a heart beat."
