What did you like the most?: "The merits hotel felt very homely, the owners are downstairs on reception during the day and always happy to assist with questions, taxis and bus information that I find very nice.

What did you like the most?: "The location."
Is there anything you didn't like?: "When I arrived I was charged 5% extra because I used my credit card, an extra £20! The staff were glum and not very social. There was a horrible smell of decadence in the reception area. The loo brush was filthy, brown with faeces. I had to sit sideways on the loo, the room was cramped. The washroom/loo was like a poorly finished box room done by a diy. No wardrobe? The beds were uncomfortable. One room only had a spare plug socket for the kettle by the door, leaving the kettle on the floor. Breakfast was a cheap, limited buffet using Tesco bargain products (10 scones 45p). The curtains would only stay shut with the provided bulldog clip. I have to be honest, this was very poor. In my job I have stayed in alot of budget Hotels and this was the worst. I paid far too much for my stay. A shame, as the place has such great potential."

What did you like the most?: "The location was ok."
Is there anything you didn't like?: "The Room we were in certainly has seen better times. The bed had a loose spring and was making noises whenever one of us turned. We also could not close the window completely so it was always a little bit cold in there. The house was nearly not noise shielded, so you could sometimes hear the sounds made by other residents ... this was especially a little bit disturbing in the bathroom. They did charge us 5 GBP for arriving after 9 pm and also take some extra money if you want to pay by credit card. To be fair they told us beforehand, but that doesnt help when its really late and you dont want to search for an ATM at 10 pm"
