- "We went for the 7 course taster menu and included an overnight stay. The location is beautiful, the staff courteous, friendly and helpful and the food was everything it was meant to be. Recommended."

- "The only thing I would change is the bedding. I'm not a big fan of sheets, heavy blankets and bed spreads and would prefer a duvet. But that's just me."

- "Tired property in need of financial investment. Dirty carpets in bedroom and dining room and a really surly waitress. It may have been lovely in its heyday, not worth the charges on hotels own website but OK when booked thro www.booking.com"

- "Very comfortable surrounding and the location suited our needs. Food was
of a really good quality. The location is great is you like the
remoteness (and we did) for outdoor types there is plenty to do and
brilliant walking without the massive crowds of the Lake District. Would
we go back - Yes!" - Is there anything you didn't like?
- "The food is of a very good quality, however it is very expensive to eat in and the wine list is expensive too although carefully chosen wines (dinner and wine for two worked out at a little over £100). There is a long driveway from the road, in the snow and ice we struggled a little there are a number of deep pot-holes to be negotiated too."
