Located between two historic landmarks, the Roman Château Comtal and Saint Nazaire Gothic Basilica, the hotel is set in its own glorious gardens. Each of the 42 guestrooms and 19 suites are furnished and decorated in an aristocratic style.

With its solid stone walls, wood panelling and stained-glass windows, the hotel offers luxurious hospitality. Several of the rooms and suites have balconies and terraces, offering spectacular views of Carcassonne, the ramparts of the mediaeval Citadel, and the castle. Other rooms offer views of the narrow cobble-stone streets of the Citadel.

Enjoy swimming in the only heated pool in the citadel, horse riding, or golf at the nearby Carcassonne course. The reception desk can arrange day excursions, sightseeing and barge-cruises.

What did you like the most?: "A beautiful hotel with very friendly attentive staff."
Is there anything you didn't like?: "Car parking outside of the hotel, waiting to be collected & taken back. Not a real inconvenience due to the 'no traffic' with the old city."

What did you like the most?: "The location is excellent. There is a lovely garden terrace for drinks. Great breakfast--staff wonderful."
Is there anything you didn't like?: "Daily housekeeping servicing was very late in the day, making mid-day retreats from the heat less convenient. At the price range for this hotel, the facility maintenance was not quite as good as expected."

What did you like the most?: "The fabric of the building needs attention. The window ledge above our terrace was crumbling and falling - a potential dangerous situation. Other than that the hotel was extremely comfortable, breakfast in our room was wonderful and the location within the ancient city walls was very convenient and excellent for exploring what was available within the city walls of Old Carcassonne, i.e. shopping, eating, entertainment and view. All in all we had a wonderful stay in Carcassonne."
