"For those who don't speak Portuguese, the title of the Hotel Praia do
Encanto cannot be closer to reality; it is definitely a captivating,
enchanting place , out of this world. Just looking at the creeping tide
eating slowly the immense beach during the day or at the Milky Way at
night , you feel under the enchanting spell. This is one of the best
relaxing place one can find. Excellent WiFi, around the bar and the
beach where you can sip Caiphirinas while checking the world news. Good
and very copious free breakfast . Free 15 minutes shuttle to take you to
the village. Friendly staff. This is definitely a nice place to relax
with a constant breeze from the sea."

What did you like the most?
"Overall, we had a very nice and relaxing stay... The hotel has a lovely
location on a deserted beach, away from the crowds - if you're looking
for a party you should stay in a pousada in town but for us this was
perfect. Free shuttle to the town is frequent and goes well into the
night (last return trip can be booked at 3am)

The hotel has a very nice beach bar area with plenty of different tables, sofas and hammocks everywhere - you can spend days there sipping caipirinhas in a shade, just meters from the sea.

The beach is beautiful (in a pristine way) though the sea bottom is extremely flat so that at low tide you'd have to walk 500m or so into the sea to get to a knee-deep water. Also, there are some sharp rocks further out - this seems to be the case for all beaches on the island and actually the strip near this hotel probably has less rocks than any other. At high tide, the beach is fine for swimming and the water is very warm.

Clearly a lot of attention has been paid to the design of the hotel which I imagine some people would find charming while others perhaps a bit cheesy - in any case, the esthetics are very far from the trendy, minimalist take on design.
The bungalows themselves are rather basic (don't expect luxury) but clean."
Is there anything you didn't like?
"Hotel staff are very nice but don't speak any English at all and are not particularly proactive (E.G. didn't offer to book a taxi for us when we had to leave at 6am - we booked ourselves in town but the driver forgot...). Food in the restaurant is average (as are the prices) but this is not a big issue since you can walk on a beach to e.g. Anima Hotel which has probably the best restaurant on the island. Breakfast has a wide range of choices (incl. 5 or 6 cakes) though the quality is again average. That said, caipirinhas and juices are excellent and reasonably priced. Not a big deal, but the hotel is effectively in the forest which means contact with the local fauna is unavoidable - think mosquitos, other insects, lizards in your room after the rain etc. There was also something crawling over our roof which, judging by the sound, must have been the crabs (these guys were all over the place but how did they get to the roof??)."
