- "I liked that our room faced the sea and we had a very private balcony. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant had good food and the patio overlooked the sea. The flowers and plants created a beautiful atmosphere. We really enjoyed our stay."

- "Spectacular views from superior rooms (try # 30 and #31). Truly helpful and pleasant staff. Nice restaurant and bar with excellent views of Positano. Very pleasant room. Really accommodating when we wanted to upgrade our room for a few nights. A-1"

- "Not a place for someone unable to deal with steps and slopes, but I think nowhere in Positano is!"

- "The Hotel Montemare is an example of a good Italian 3 star hotel. The view was fantastic from our room. The front room staff were very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was larger than many 3-star we have stayed at and all the facilities worked well. The breakfast was excellent - the normal Italian breakfast of pastries, cereal and ham & cheese, but the quantity and variety was excellent. The attached restaurant was very good for dinner."
