- "Internet access is exaggerated on the website. It is not possible to access Wifi from all the rooms. I wish the advertising was accurate rather than attempting to attrct guests. I wouldnt book there i f i didnt have Wifi. My computer and mobile were both fried in a power surge during a storm."

- "The best thing about Hotel Gontijo is that it is located right in the middle of centro BH! The room I stayed in is respectfully clean. Although I did find a cockroach in my room and in the hallway. The AC was in working condition and the shower had hot water.They served a delicious all you can eat brazilian breakfast. Plus there is free wifi. It is a good hotel for those traveling on a budget and want a private room instead of staying in dorm room (in a hostel)."
- Is there anything you didn't like?
- "The staff was not what you would call friendly and none of them spoke english. However I never had any problems with any of the staff members during my entire stay. Security is a bit suspect I thought. No one ever checked my ID when I asked for my room key whenever I return to the hotel, even from staff members whom never met me before. So someone/anyone could just walk up to the counter, pretend they stay at the hotel, get a hold of my room key, go in, steal my stuff, and walk out of the hotel. I guess the only peace of mind is that the hotel has 24 hour camera surveillance."

- "The rooms are pretty small, the water only wanted to be warm, and there were quite a number of noisy black people with the appearance of construction workers at the breakfast tables"

- "Bad barrio, especially at night, be really careful. A room in a prison has probably more character than this one. Real spartan, just two beds and a neon light. In weekends hotel is full of brazilians who want to party in BH and families. Very noisy at night, lots of noice from the staircases. Breakfast is very simple. Wifi non-existand and only 1 pc with internet dating back to somewhere in the 80-ies (pac-man is slow on it). Security is not good, no check at entrance, simple lock on door and no safe. Would suggest to spend more money and get an hotel in a more upscale barrio couse BH is not a safe town at night if you are in the wrong spot."
