- "Hosteria Los Barrancos has a world-class view of snow-capped mountains, the stunning green waters of Lake Argentina and the lovely little town of El Calafate. The lounge and dining areas face a huge glass wall taking advantage of the huge vista and creating a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere. It is a 700 mtr walk into town, however you can get a friendly taxi any time for $4US.
Monica and George, our hosts made the four of us feel extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble (George even gave us a lift into town on the first day to catch the tour company before it closed!). Monica speaks excellent English (which was helpful as our Spanish is NOT excellent) and her advice and help was invaluable.
The room and private bathroom were spotlessly clean, warm and the bed very comfortable. The room was serviced each day and was a pleasure to come home to.
Breakfast was tasty, varied and more than adequate and Monica packs a delicious lunch for a fair price to take on your tour/cruise as it is not included in the price of the tour. We even enjoyed a dinner prepared lovingly by our hosts.
If you are looking for peaceful, quiet and comfortable accommodation with awe-inspiring views, Hosteria Los Barrancos will not disappoint! Thank you Momica and George for enhancing our Patagonian experience."

- "The owners were delightful, gave us the warmest welcome and treated us
with utmost consideration and kindness. Their help in organizing our
outings went far beyond our expectations and our days in El Calafate
were hugely enriched by their contribution to our planning. Although the
hotel is located on the outskirts of town - about a 15 minute trek to
the center - the view and peace largely compensates for the hike."
