- "Best air conditioning in Brazil - I like my rooms arctic, particularly
in hot climates, and due to my heart condition. The strong, silent, and
deliciously cold aircon flow was something I longed for during the 12-
state visit to the country, when I often had to sleep nude to survive.
It's located a bit far from the city center, to the northeast (in the
opposite direction than the airport), but given the state of security in
the latter, that is actually a plus. You will need a taxi to shuttle
between the port/centro and the hotel. Right outside the hotel, there is
a small jungle garden and an Amazon-style thatched-roof hut, housing a
small altar. Good breakfast. Outstanding crew on arrival and departure.
I arrived very late at night, and in quite a miserable state after a
long journey - the welcome I have received was one of the highlights of
my stay in Brazil."
