- "The hosts were hard to reach via phone or email. Food was mediocre, coffee weak. The facility was only marginally clean (left-over scraps of food in common area)."

- "The Hillcrest Country Inn is different from the other resorts in Calistoga. It really feels like being invited into someone's home. It was affordable and the innkeeper (I feel terrible I can't remember her name) was very pleasant. The rooms are unique and have patios to stare out at the beautiful scenery. The price was affordable but in some ways you get what you pay for. We discussed several times how if the inn changed the decor (mostly removing all the antiques but the beautiful dining set) and made the breakfast more like the foodie haven it is nestled in, and added an afternoon wine tasting, they could charge 4X the price per night."

- "We didn't check in until about 10PM, which meant we drove up windy, isolated dirt roads to be greeted by a lone home on the hill. Without seeing the surroundings in the daylight, we felt like we were transported to the beginning of a horror film. I was grateful I did not see the room full of antique dolls until the following morning. That being said, the morning light provided a new, happy lens through which to view the beautiful countryside and friendly looking geyser."

- "This place is a pit. The house is cluttered and messy, common areas are packed full of collectables, mostly ugly dolls. Hundreds of gifts littered the floor around the xmas tree and entry. Piano and large table seating for 14+ dominated the main room where there is uncomfortable seating for 4 to converse. Old TVs in bedrooms. May also be a fire hazard as single extension cord supporting 3 different electrical devices. I would not recommend this place to the homeless. You sould refuse to list this B&B until it improves."
