- "I liked the historical atmosphere of the house and the efficiency of the staff. My room was clean with plenty of tea and coffee and lots of bathroom toiletries. The bed was comfortable and I could open the windows. The hotel is almost opposite the Opera House in Covent Garden and as I was staying overnight to see the Ring Cyle (4 performances on 4 alternate days) this was very useful. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area, both cheap and expensive ones. All in all, it is reasonable value for money - in Central London - and I would not hesitate to book again, if necessary."
- Is there anything you didn't like?
- "There was no lift and I had to climb 3 floors of narrow, steep stairs, which would not have been a problem in my younger days (I am 65 and not especially fit). I needed to open the windows because the room was very warm and stuffy (early October) although the heating was not on, and then I could not sleep because of the noise outside. I don't understand why so many hotels have palatial bathrooms, and bedrooms that are cramped."
