- "The common areas were well worn and not very clean. It is in well need of refurbishment"

- "The El Montico was the perfect Dog friendly stop over between Bilbao and Portugal. The staff spoke little English, but were very welcoming. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. Food is available until 11PM and Dogs are welcome in the bar. Breakfast was good, plenty to choose from."

- "The breakfast choice on our return journey was disappointing."
