- "The addition of so much tax to an already high cost....not entirely down to the hotel, of course."

- "Location, friendly staff. I have stayed in this hotel since the 80s and
liked it very much. Now sadly it has badly deteriorated, though the
staff do their best, they have no back up." - Is there anything you didn't like?
- "Dirty bedroom, broken and very uncomfortable sofabed. Kitchen with few plates and glasses and no pans until requested and reluctantly supplied.Chairs with split seats, rather battered furniture.Heating did not work on arrival. This is obviously due to the fact that the hotel is due to close and the new owners do not care about anyone who is staying in the last weeks, though the price was higher than ever."

- "Good location for my purposes: United Nations and Upper East Side. Nice
one bed room suite; but: see what not to like." - Is there anything you didn't like?
- "The hotel has been sold and will close down as hotel very soon. Hence, many things which you expect in a hotel at that price level were missing: no screw driver, no wine glasses, refrigerator broken, some peeling of ceilings etc etc."

- "Helpful staff. Front desk helped us with maps and restaurant suggestions, car to airport, and airline checkin. Maid washed the dishes. Quick to replace hair dryer. Large room with separate bedroom and kitchen. Views from room were great!"

- "Non-smoking room smelled of smoke. Heater blew too hot or too cold air. Finally left windows open with 40 degree weather to be comfortable and get rid of smoke smell. By 3rd night, smoke smell was gone. Only 1 spoon in kitchen for family of 3. When we requested more silverware, they sent up only 1 more spoon. Stains on carpet. My sock actually stuck to a carpet stain. No sheets on sofa bed. Very uncomfortable sofa bed. Worn out furniture. Creaky floor. Too far to subway."
