What did you like the most?
"The breakfast was spectacular- enough food to keep you going until dinner, but also food of the highest quality and freshness. The extensive fresh eggs menu still makes my mouth water with the variety, not to mention incredible flavour. However, I would recommend you ask for them without salt (sin sal), as the Spanish love their salt, and this chef is no different.
The staff were all very polite, but with Spanish tourism being their mainstay, the language-barrier was an issue. However, I believe this is the foreigner's problem, not the local's and if you try a little Spanish, everyone was very understanding and patient."
Is there anything you didn't like?
"The location of the hotel was very remote. Even with a car, the trek to Toro was considerable. This is more of an inconvenience when coupled with the hugely over-priced bar and restaurant menu in the hotel. This hotel would be ideal for a mature couple looking for an anonymous, secluded (not to mention expensive) spa retreat, but for a young couple we found the place to be soulless and un-atmospheric. I am pretty sure that we were the only guests when we stayed, and that was the end of May, which does not bode well. As well as this, the very expensive rate does not include any of the ammenities. The Spa is ?39 per person for the basic facilities. The connected winery is ?25 for a visit and wine taste, which is way above local prices, for even the best wineries of Toro DO (local Egurien-owned Teso La Monja is ?40, but includes a bottle of their spectacular Victorino wine). Valbusenda wines are decent-at-best judging by the complimentary bottles they leave in your room. I would only be tempted to return to Valbusenda if the prices were brought in line with Nothern Spanish expectations. Surely this would mean that they would get more guests that would give the place more life and a bit of a buzz. With their obsene prices for food, drink and facilites, there is no reaon to stay around the hotel, so means there is very little life to the place."

What did you like the most?
"The food was superb and the wine from their own bodega was fantastic. The wine tour/tasting was probably the best of many we have had over the years. The location was rural and peaceful--take a GPS. We would love to go back."
