What did you like the most?
"The staff were lovely, extremely helpful and polite, it was in a great
location, and, as long as you know what you're getting beforehand
(I.E. read the description and a few reviews), there is little to
complain about"
Is there anything you didn't like?
"The hostel-style layout isn't for everybody, but it's nothing the Bowery House can do to improve this, they are honest and upfront about the experience. The only downpoint is the showers were often cold, I had to be up early to get in there first to get a hot one."

"All the people can listen each other, but it's not a problem when you care an Ipod."

What did you like the most?
"I chose the hostel for the relatively low price, the availablility of a
single room and free wi-fi, and the nice location in the downtown
Manhattan. The staff is friendly and helpful, the shared bathrooms and
toilets are kept clean, and you don't have to wait to use them."
Is there anything you didn't like?
"The rooms are rather uncomfortable: they are too small, you hardly have space to move around. The acoustics are very poor: you can hear every sound made in neigbouring rooms (and earplugs is not the desicion that suits everyone). The linen is not changed regularly, but only upon request. There is only one women's bathroom and one men's bathroom, and they are on different floors, which can be a problem, if you get a room on a different floor from the needed bathroom (which was a case with me, so I had to ask to move me, and luckily there was a room available), -especially considering the fact that this is an old building with high staircases and no elevator. The staircases are also poorly illuminated, which probably adds to the hostel's authentic atmosphere, but can be uncomfortable and even dangerous. Despite the free wi-fi, there is no private space to work, if you've come on business. The rooms are too tiny; the living room on the third floor is rather for clubbing than working, as it is half-light and there is always music playing. There is an office, but it is only for the hostel's managers. There is no kitchen, where you could cook for yourself, or at least a tea-kettle, so that the guests could have a cup of hot tea without leaving the hostel, when it's cold outside. Summing it up, the Bowery House's level of comfort is not worth it's price. Maybe it's ok to spend a night or two, but not if you've come for a longer stay. Next time I go to New York City, I'll look for some other place to stay."
