- "The excellent staff who were always happy to help. The staff in the
restaurant were also very competent, friendly and helpful. The food was
very good being varied and well presented. Of course, there was the
usual complainant trying to demonstrate they ate only gourmet meals when
in reality it was probably beans on toast. The staff are a credit to the
hotel and deserve the highest praise. It would have been nice to see
them being thanked but these days that is exspecting too much I suppose.
Rooms were cleaned every day to a very good standard, and towels were
changed whenever necessary." - Is there anything you didn't like?
- "a) For some strange reason, that we were never able to get a credible answer to, the excellent reading room that overlooks the sea front was never open in the evening. This needs to be sorted out. Reading for some of us is a great pleasure in the evening, and this room is a spacious and very comfortable room in which to do so after a day in the sun. b) the dress rules for dining are clearly displayed at the entrance to the restaurant yet they are ignored by many. We witnessed every evening beach shorts, bare feet scruffy tops, and so on. This is disrespecful to staff and annoying to other guests who have taken the trouble to dress appropriately. Those who fail to abide by the rules should be banned from the restaurant. There is unfortunately a growing element from ALL countries who seem to think rules do not apply to them. In this respect, the manners of some German and Dutch guests were deplorable."
