- "Vents in the room had not been cleaned for some time, I'm surprised they let any air in or out of the room. My husband and I both have trouble walking and with stairs. We were in a room on the 21/2 floor and the elevator did not work half the time. I had to go to the front desk (quite a distance),everyday for coffee cups,drinking glasses and coffee. We stayed 4 nights (2 guests) and for some reason these things were not replaced by houskeeping. Not a big deal but inconvenient. Just a suggestion: For the people that do smoke perhaps you could offer a upfront "deep cleaning fee" to the room instead of making them walk to the deck, which is quite slippery of an evening and early morning. We would stay again in a heartbeat but it could use some fixing up."

It looks like they are slowly renovating the hotel so I guess the room rates will go up but maybe not. San Francisco is an expensive city and hotel prices are in the high 300-400 per night. So if you want 4 or 5 star go pay those prices. So this motel being in a great area with MUNI just outside the door gets you everywhere a vacation tourist can go. Just go up to Castro MUNI station and get a multi day ticket to ride the trams, trains and buses. Orphan Andies does great food. I'm just saying this motel is in a great location. Ps. There are a lot of homeless all over the city. I still felt safe walking street at night with my partner."
