- "Apartmentos Rurales Blanca has just four apartments. The only other accommodation in the village is a small 1* hotel. The village is small and fairly remote making a stay here very quiet and peaceful. We had apartment number one which was very spacious for two people and with hot water a plenty. There were TV's in both lounge and bedroom. The kitchen area had a four ring electric hob and microwave and it was generally well equipped including washing up liquid. Bedding and towels were provided along with hand soap. You need to bring shower gel. Inside the apartment it remains fairly cool so there is an opportunity to escape from the heat if necessary. Central heating is provided but we didn't need it. The owners asked for payment in cash and seemed to imply that payment by card was not an option but we don't speak Spanish so were unable to clarify the situation. There is no shop in the village to speak of - just a very small kiosk at the hotel selling a few odds and ends. They seem to have a daily bread delivery and would probably get it for you if you ordered it. The nearest supermarket is at San Martin about a 10 minute drive to the north. If driving south, there is also a small SPAR supermarket at San Emilliano about 20 minutes away. The apartments are a good base for walking. Route information is shown on the 1:60000 ADAC map, a set of leaflets from Tourist Info and the Cicerone 'Cordillera Cantabrica' guide book. None of these individually shows all the routes."
