What did you like the most?
"Booked: August 2012 Superior Double room with extra bed - room nos 36
Like Ye Olde English Manor House with rooms to match
Good
Reception lady was lovely and gave us a quick tour of the Cellars as we?d missed the 20 euro tasting (well overpriced)
Great ?cavern? like tunnels approaching lift to room.
Character (small) cellar."
Is there anything you didn't like?
"Not so Good Dreadful breakfast ? well overpriced at E22!! For this I?d expect the Chef to be tossing pancakes and whisking up fluffy omelettes. Instead it was a poor show of a buffet with cold egg, cold bacon (but barely bacon as we know it) and cold, awful sausages. Terrible service from the waitress when we asked her to ?heat things up a bit? ? she didn?t even apologise or acknowledge us. We waited ages then left to head for the reception for a refund of 66 Euros?. (yep, you heard right ? there is no typo in this figure which equal £55!!!! Pool area has a glass barrier all the way round it which totally ruins the whole pool area. On asking we were told ?it?s to prevent children from falling in?. Well?.a) I didn?t see a child as it?s not a children?s hotel, b) Obviously there must have been some ?incident? in the past for the barrier to go up. Take it down and put a disclaimer that ?Parents are responsible for their children?s safety whilst in the pool area?! Reception staff (ladies) carry in your luggage ? where are the porters at this 5* Hotel? Wi-fi advertised as available in the ?entire hotel? ? but should say ?excluding bedrooms?. (Or certainly ours) Evening meal overpriced for what you get. Rooms are by no means large. Not value for money ? if you are going to charge 300 euro for a room plus 38 euro for a rollaway bed for a child (!!!!) and 22 euro for a child?s breakfast (!!!) it all needs to be a lot better than it is."

What did you like the most?
"The situation was excellent for exploring the Touraine. The food was good and the building has splendid elements, subject to the comment below. The staff were extremely efficient and friendly."
Is there anything you didn't like?
"The hotel seems stuck in a 1980s timewarp, and needs investment to bring it up to the standards of a 5 star hotel. There is no spa, and although facilities for massage treatment were advertized, it was not in the event possible for the masseur to attend."
