- "Have stayed at the 'Classic Savoy Hotel' for over 30 yrs until it was demolished in 2010.The Royal Savoy was built on the marina of the old hotel about 8 yrs ago below the Classic Savoy. Standards have remained very high at the new hotel with public rooms a joy but the old
hotel said ' Madeira '. like its next door hotel ,Reids. The 'Royal 'architecture could be any anywhere." - Is there anything you didn't like?
