- "We stayed in the nicest room, with a window opening to the wonderful garden. We got given a nice small sample of Port wine and some easter almonds as a welcome treat. Woke up to the sound of birds and seagulls - do make sure you get the back rooms as they are the ones with the garden. Nice atmosphere, in a beautiful typical old house in front of Porto's best garden (Palacio de Cristal) and very nice and friendly hosts. The breakfast is served in a beautiful room on the ground floor, with good expresso coffee/fruit juice, good jam and brown bread and croissants, homemade fruit salad and cake (baked by the owner's grandma, an 87 year old lady). This place is very close to the emerging alternative art gallery area in Rua do Breyner. The hots will give you all the information you want. At the end we got given a nice souvenir of our stay."
- Is there anything you didn't like?
- "There is no sign on the main door to the building so you must actually look for a blue door, remember the door number, then press the doorbell. The bathroom is a small cabinet built inside the bedrooms (it is an old building which was done up) and it's spacious enough but the door to the cabinet can be annoying as it doesnt close properly. They do not provide toiletries ( but will give you soap if you ask them) so make sure to bring your own soap and shampoo. There isn't a closet, just a hanger to hang your clothes, there are no drawers except on the bedside tables. If you need extra blankets or pillows you must ask the hosts. The room was heated and the heater was on but the ceiling id so high that it didn't actually get very warm.. there is a cold spell going on at the moment but it must get pretty chilly in winter."
