- "Nouvel Hotel was mid way between the rail station and the sea front. The
hotel is in a classic building- my room overlooked the small gothic
church in the adjacent side road. The Hotel was tired and despite
caliming a recent re-furb the rooms needed general maintenance and
redecoration. The carpets were stained but were hoovered daily. The
towels were changed daIly, and we had clean sheets. The shower required
some repairs in order to use it but the water was hot and plentiful. The
hairdryer tube fell out of the wall but worked well anyway. The bed was
comfortable and clean. This was a value hotel ideally situated close to
main transport links, the beach, the old town and excellent nearby
eateries and supermarkets." - Is there anything you didn't like?
- "The hotel had no real negatives but travellers should be aware of the above issues when booking. It is a cheap hotel and has extras which I would not have expected from just a 2 star. Some rooms had fridges and all had security boxes at no charge but with an up front returnable deposit so its an essential to store passports etc. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke English well. If you are looking for a basic hotel with good beds, good clean and fresh linen in a top location then consider Nouvel Hotel. If you are wanting a romantic atmosphere with luxury furnishing and spotlessly clean carpets and newly painted walls then go elsewhere as Nouvel Hotel does have decoration issues, does have some basic maintenance issues but will provide you will basic, cleaned and comfy rooms with no frills."
