Getting there:Garajau is a charming village with many shops, bars and restaurants, located on the south coast of Madeira Island between Funchal and Caniço. Its main attraction is the famous promontory, called Ponta do Garajau. The bustling city of Funchal is within easy reach of the hotel by bus or taxi. The Hotel is only 10 minutes drive from Madeira’s Airport. By Car from the Airport to the Hotel: Leaving the airport, follow the signs to Funchal and Caniço. Once you have passed the exit for Caniço you will start to climb and pass through two tunnels. Directly after the second tunnel is the exit for Garajau. Follow the signs for Garajau down the hill, and the Dom Pedro Garajau is on the right.
Surrounding areas:The small village of Garajau is located between Funchal and Caniço. Its main attraction is the famous promontory, called Ponta do Garajau, where you find, overlooking the Atlantic, the big statue of Christ, known as Cristo-Rei. There is also in the area the beautiful Nature Reserve (Reserva Natural Parcial do Garajau), which, thanks to the extraordinary biological diversity and outstanding clarity of its waters, offers the ideal conditions for diving, making this a more and more famous site among divers throughout the world.
