Hotel Zaguan del Darro is an OldHouse from the 16th century, that was built in castillian style, and is located in the most beautiful place in the city. Its patio has been designated by UNESCO as of artistic interest.
On the ground floor there is a cafe-bar where the breakfasts, tapas and other dishes of exquisite taste are served. The building belonged to the court of the king Carlos V and after that to the clergy, which are reasons why the building is so artistically interesting.
There are 13 bright rooms in the accommodation, from which you can enjoy some magnificent views of the Alhambra. Some of them have balconies and the rest of them have big windows.
Hotel Zaguan del Darro is located in Carrera del Darro, a narrow street that is parallel to the river flow and that is full of small old mansions and churches.
It’s right between the “barrio de Albaicín” and the Alhambra.
Granada is 68 km away from Motril, Sierra Nevada Nature Reserve is 88 km away o and Malaga is 133 km away.

What did you like the most?: We loved our stay at Hotel Zaguan del Darro. We had a view up to the towers of the Alhambra - magical! Guess it would be noisy in mid- summer but a joy in early Spring. What did you like the most?: On a delightful narrow street opposite the small walled river. Up the
street is a Paseo de Los Tristes with an outdoor café and views of
the Alhambra on the hill. Good spot for night shots. Down the street
is Plaza Nueva a transportation hub with restaurants and the location
of the official Alhambra gift shop where you can pick up Alhambra
tickets that you ordered on line so you don?t have to wait in line
for them at the site.
Reception had constant staff, all with relatively good English which we discovered is rare in Spain ? brush up on your language skills before going!. They helped with bus routes and taxi info (we got ripped coming from the train station, so hold your ground).
There is an elevator to your room, once you get up the first short flight of stairs from the street. We had a desk/chair and upholstered chair, closet and WiFi, a small window that opened to a little quiet alley walkway. Hot water and tub. They?ll make reservations for the Arab Bath which is close, but we didn?t have time.
They also securely held our luggage in a room behind the desk on our last day. We ?borrowed? a paperback from their lending library, so if you go, please leave them a book in our name to replace it. Another traveler might be starved for an English version of a Tom Clancy novel!
Immediately downstairs is a bar with bacon and eggs, toast and jam, (if just ask for pan/bread that?s what you get, see the menu to ask for toast. Fresh squeezed orange juice ? reasonable pricing. Although the menu says scrambled eggs, my one egg arrived sunny side up. Be sure you indicate dos (two) eggs scrambled ( use hand movement for mixing).

What did you like the most?: The staff were very helpful. Especially when we drove in the restricted
area. They filled out a report for the police so we would not get a
fine. No street signs! Go straight to parking and get gps!
