This historic hotel dates from 1886, and is located in the heart of Madrid. The Puerta del Sol, Prado Museum and Thyssen Gallery are all within 400 metres.

The Hotel Inglés is a classical hotel in a great location. Famous guests include political figures, musicians and writers. These include Virginia Woolf and José Echegeray.

The Inglés is close to the shops on Gran Via, and is surrounded by great bars and restaurants. There are many metro and bus links nearby.

Rooms are simple and practical. There is heating, LCD satellite TV, and a private bathroom.

Useful services at the Hotel Inglés include a tour desk and 24-hour reception. The entire hotel is non-smoking.

What did you like the most?: A fabulous location very close to all that needed to be visitied in Madrid. The staff were extrememly friendly and helpfull, even to having an adaptor to re-charge my mobile. Do not be alarmed by the first glance at the hotel as it does not appear to be particularly salubrious; but once you get in you are pleasantly surprised at the comfort and the cleanliness. sent it by Anónimo

What did you like the most?: We thought the reception Manager was extremely helpful and welcoming. We
were also delighted with the relatively low price - in relation to the
standard of the rooms and the location. We were impressed with the
flexibility and helpfulness of the housekeeping team. Great shower too.

What did you like the most?: This was our second stay--hotel is located about three blocks from the
Sol station which connects to everywhere. Walking distance to Museums,

suite for less than 100euro. On the other hand, my daughter had a single

What did you like the most?: I liked being close to the older parts of Madrid. Prado, Reina Sofía,
Thiesen, all close by. Flamenco near also at Casa Patas, which also has
good food. The staff were helpful and welcoming. Lots of good people
watching places within walking distance. There was noise from the street
side, but it is kind of nice to be where there is a lot going on. We all

What did you like the most?: Ingles is an old, reliable standard. Large, comfortable rooms and bathrooms. A few blocks from Sol and the Prado. Well priced. sent it by Alma


What did you like the most?: We were very pleased with the hotel. It was well situated near good
restaurants and bars also shops. The extra factor why it is so good is
that there is a garage next to the hotel for the use of hotel residents.
A charge is made for the use of the garage but it is so convenient to
park your car in the middle of a busy city. The rooms were clean and the
beds comfortable. The rooms were also of a good size with plenty of room
for clothes. Overall a good standard hotel and we would use it again. We
liked the fact it is one of the oldest hotels in the city of Madrid.
